Hall), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
It was adopted on July 4, 1776.
Fifty-six delegates signed the Declaration of Independence.
The Constitution was written to declare the 13 United Colonies
free and independent from Great Britain.
Parchment and ink were used to write the Declaration of Independence.
The Declaration of Independence had to be preserved because
it was deteriorating. On April 21, 1920, Secretary of State Brainbridge
Colby thought of the idea to preserve the Declaration.
