Wormholes
The wormholes were mathematically studied before
scientists took black
holes seriously. A problem is they don’t stay open very long. They stay open
for a tiny fraction of a second. If you get sucked in one you will get trapped
because it will probably close right when you get in. if you get through you
would have to travel faster than light. The wormhole would be unstable. If they
stayed open longer and did not make objects travel at speeds faster than light,
then time travel might be possible. Einstein’s equations describe a wormhole
that connects two regions of flat space time, two universes, or two parts of the
same universe. Before light can go from universe to universe gravity will close
the wormhole (door between universes.) if you use electricity you might be able
to keep the wormhole open long enough to travel through it. If you go into one
you will have an extremely hard time getting back to tour own universe. This
makes us wonder if it will be possible.
