How to Make a Friend

How can you make a friend? Is it difficult? Or is it easy? Our advice will guide you through the hard times in making a friend of the teen years.

The first step into making a friend is to introduce yourself.

The next step is to know your friend well. You could invite them to hang out with you after school. Or you could walk to school with them. If you don’t know how to start an interesting conversation, you could try to start with asking about their hobbies and interests. Then tell them some of your interests. Soon you will start a good conversation

The third step is to never lie and be honest. Little white lies could be o.k. For example, if your friend got a bad grade on a test tell them it isn’t that bad. Even though it is o.k. to give a little lie, always encourage your friend. Everyone likes to be encouraged to do right!

The last step is to make sure you are participating in a school activity. After school activities like sports or clubs are great ways to make new friends. If you do not belong in a club and have trouble making friends I strongly suggest you should join club.

If you do not like to play board games or you're just not a talker, Try to make a friend doing out door activities. Sports such as soccer or baseball are terrific ways to make friends. Also you have to have good sportsmanship. If you're not that fond of sports, try a bicycle ride in the park or a walk to the store. You can think of things to talk about like movies, school, and other things.

Making a friend could be hard for some people, but with these easy steps you will have too many friends to even count!  Always remember when you try to make a friend be yourself. If you are pretending to be "cooler" or someone that you are not, then that person isn't your friend.
