An Update From Afghanistan
This is the latest news from Afghanistan... With
Taliban and Al-Qeada troops on the run, America
thought the war on Osama bin Laden was over. We
were wrong... very wrong. Taliban and Al-Qeada
forces have regrouped and have killed at least 8
U.S. soldiers. U.S. warplanes have dropped bombs on
terrorist battalions. There is no sign of Osama bin
Laden, but there are rumors that he has died of
illness or fled into Pakistan. President Bush's next
vow is to go after Sadam Hussan. Operation
Anaconda has ended. The United States has
captured a Taliban commander who trained foreign
troops to fight for the Taliban. The U.S. is also
questioning some men thought to have links to Al-
Qeada and Osama bin Laden. (3/21/02)
