They're Built 

The architecture of a nuclear power plant is extremely complex. It has many things used in from the tools used to make it to the nuclear reactor. The in inside structure of the building is probably the most complex part of the nuclear power plant. Although we will not be concentrating on the inside we will be talking about the actual design of the building. The building has been put together with a lot of safety reasons in mind. One of them is that they build outstanding 10 foot walls of concrete for the building.

The tallest and sometimes the thickest part of the nuclear power plant is the cooling tower. It is a massive structure that is used to take the heat out of the water that has been already used so it can be put back into the sea or to be reused. Did you know that the cooling tower can produce up to 100,000 gallons of water per second? That is enough to fill 2000 bathtubs! Know that is a lot of water. Think about it for a second. How does the cooling tower accomplish this that easily. Easy it uses power. Tons and tons of power that is created from within the nuclear power plant.

Did you know that a nuclear power plant reaches all over towns? From this information you can a get an idea of about how much energy a nuclear power plant must make to supply all of area it covers. It is so much that it could supply almost a quarter of an entire state! Did you know that the entire space a nuclear power plant can use could reach across a couple of towns at the most?
Did you know that the energy once produced in the power plant has a long way to travel to get to your home? First it is transferred from the power plant to overhead power lines. From there it goes to at least one substation. After that it goes to more overhead wires to your home depending on where you live. If you live out on a farm the wires will probably go straight to your house. If you live in a town it will probably go through another substation. From there into more overhead wires into your home. The same thing with a city except that the wires might be longer and probably underground which connects to your house.
