| What The Men and Women Wear In Mexico!! | ||||||||||||||
| In central and southern Mexico, men generally wear plain cotton shirts and trousers, and leather sandals, called huaraches.
In the cities of Mexico most people dress as we do. But in the country, many people wear white cotton shirts and pants. To protect themselves from the sun and the rain they wear wide-brimmed hats, called ''sombreros.'' For warmth, they might wear a wool blanket, called a ''serape". Most Serapes are handwoven and their colorful patterns are very old. Mexican women usually wear cotton skirts and blouses. Often their clothes are decorated with beautiful emboridery. A long shawl, called a ''rebozo,'' can be used for warmth and as protection from the sun. A rebozo can also be used to carry packages and small children. |
