WHY THEY ATTACKED

The rise of dictatorships and the desire of Germany, Italy, and Japan was one reason why Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Another reason why the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor is because the Japanese and the U.S. were the only powerful forces in the Pacific. Japan thought that if they destroyed Pearl Harbor, the U.S. would move out of the Pacific, and then Japan would be the only strong fighting force in the Pacific, and they could easily conquer the Pacific.

The United States military dropped the Atomic Bomb at Hiroshima so that Japan would surrender. The Japanese did not surrender in the next three days so the U.S. dropped the second Atomic Bomb on Nagasaki. After that, the Japanese surrendered and exited the war.
