Once
you have gone through Security, you go to the Restricted
Area. Only passengers with tickets can come into this part of the
terminal. This is the place where most passengers spend their
waiting time. Our airport looked like it had just been renovated
[done over] and it was beautiful. It seemed that they included
everything to make a traveler comfortable. |
|
To reach the Restricted Area of this airport, we had to pass
through a tunnel [not creepy, by the way] and then go up to the
second floor. They had several ways to get there as pictured
to the right.
Some kids are afraid of escalators or
elevators. There are choices in
the way you reach the second floor. If you click on these
pictures and make them larger, you will see that the escalator has
steps in the middle. The elevator [with mirrored doors and
very pretty] was available, too. So, if you don't like
escalators, elevators, or even steps--don't worry. There are
choices. |

In the
restricted area there are seats for you to sit on while you're waiting
for your plane. At our airport, there was a big window where you
could see the runways and the planes land. |
|
Don't be afraid that you won't be able to find the gate that you
need. There are signs all over the place. If you are
walking, not paying even a little attention to signs, and you miss
them, the Check In desks are the place to find out where you
belong. |

|
|

|
There are cafes and food areas in all large
airports. You can eat before getting on the plane.
This one had desks where you could work or hookup a laptop
computer. Neat. |

|
And you thought you were finally
checked in? You will need to show your boarding pass to the
Restricted Area check in. |
|
We loved the gift shops although we
did wish we had more money with us. If you want a souvenir,
remember money! |

|
|

|
We include this picture so that you will know that airport
terminals mark rest rooms with big signs. You won't have any
trouble finding one. Please remember that you are in a place
with strangers and follow the SAME
rules you follow at home. Do not go into rest rooms without
an adult. If you are traveling alone, the airport person
watching out for you will see that you get there if you need to. |
|
When it is time for you to go on board the plane, you will walk through a
long hall. This is the long, snake-like accordion walkway that you
might have seen from the waiting area windows. It is pulled up and
connected to the door of the airport terminal and then attached to the
plane. It looks like a long hallway from inside. You
walk through this to get to your plane. |
