If you are traveling alone, the General Waiting Area is a
place where you can wait and visit with the people who take you to
the airport. These people can't go into the Restricted
Area because that is only for passengers with tickets. |

If you are traveling with your family, you
probably won't spend so much time in the General Waiting
area. People with tickets often go to the Restricted Area to
do most of their waiting so that they are nearer to getting on the
plane. Don't worry--there are neat things there,
too! |
|
We enjoyed the General Waiting area. When we took our tour, we loved the shopping and food
places and did not
expect that there would be so many choices. In larger airports there
are even more. |
|
We
thought the TVs were really neat. They cost money, so it's a
good idea to bring change if you plan to use them. Way cool! |

There are usually big windows where you can watch planes taking
off and landing. This is a good time to read, listen to CD
players or a Walkman, watch the planes, or use some of the printable activity sheets from our Fun
n'Games page.

We liked the shops and picked up some cool souvenirs while we were
there. Please remember that when we
are home, our parents always tell us, over and over, not to talk to
strangers and not to go off alone. This doesn't change in the
airport. If you follow the SAME 'stranger'
rules you follow at home, you will be safe in an airport. Don't go
anywhere alone--even to the really neat gift shops. |
