The
Fire & Rescue department is important to an airport.
Not only is it there in case of a building fire, but it is also
available in case there are problems with a plane. They
help if someone is sick and needs to get off of a
plane. |

They will put out a fire on the
plane or rescue a person stranded somewhere. They will also clean up any
gas, oil, or chemical on the runway or fields in between them.
We saw a couple of trucks when we
visited, but the larger airports have more. The garage is located
close to the Passenger terminal and the runways so that they can reach
the problem no matter where it is. You need a security code to get
in. This is just another way that the airports try to
make it safer for you.
