The control of the Germans brought upon the French Resistance. Only in a few weeks after the Germans took over France the French took action in preparing for a long time of hardships that the Germans would bring upon them. Some people organized groups that would help British Airmen that were shot down. There were groups that sabotaged railroads and some unprotected German facilities. In May of 1943 Jean Moulin brought up a council of resistance movement groups. This council has been called the National Resistance Council. While the British kept on fighting it attracted many volunteers from France to be a part of the Resistance headquarters in London called Free France. The committee of this place was called the French National Committee. |
