Poland Prepares for Battle

Just as Hitler had done with Austria and Czechoslovakia, he demanded from the Polish government an area of land that was in Poland that had a high German population. The Polish government would not give in however since any other time a country had given Germany’s demands, they were soon invaded.On August 30, 1939, Poland mobilized its armed forces and told them to be ready for battle. The Poles were very careful to avoid agitating the German Government so as to avoid war. Polish strategy was a deliberate ploy to gain sympathy if a war started from the upcoming battle.On August 31, we believe that German soldiers dressed as Polish soldiers attacked a German radio station on the German-Polish border. This was used to be the beginning of the German invasion of Poland.
