We have received reports proving that less then a month after the  Soviet Union and Germany met, agreeing not to attack, Hitler was ready to invade. Operation Barabossa was the code name for the invasion of Russia. Stalin had sent a spy into Japan to find out information on the thought of attack. Stalin received word that an attack was imminent. Stalin however knew that Hitler liked to blame the victim of his attacks for the attack, so Stalin didn't want to move his troops closer to the border or cut off supplies to Germany because he didn't want to give Germany an excuse to attack. Stalin sent supplies to Germany till the second the Nazi's moved across the border. At 4:15 a.m. on June 22, 1941, the German air force began to bomb Soviet naval and air force bases. Before the Soviet's had time to react, the German army began to began a three front attack
over a one thousand mile border. Within the week, Hitler's allies had also declared war, leaving the Soviet Union alone to fight Germany, Romania, Italy, Finland, Hungary, and Albania. The Battle for the Soviet Union had started with force.
