    Carlinville, Illinois is located approximately fifty miles from the state capital, Springfield.  Being a rural community, our population is small, 5200, and basically one of farming and mining.  Grades nine through twelve comprise the high school population of 535.  Sports and academics are stressed along with many extra-curricular act ivies, such as plays, scholastic bowl, blood drives, and student council. Carlinville High School is a national “Blue Ribbon School”.
