As Great Britain and France declared war on Germany, Poland was fighting the fight of their lives. Germany went in all out with their new "Blitzkrieg" or lighting war strategy. With about 2,800 tanks, 3,100 planes, and countless soldiers, they quickly out powered the small Polish army of 32 infantry divisions, 11 cavalry brigades and one armored brigade. After Britain's declaration of war, they launched their first attack on Germany. Britain dropped leaflets on the German people stating , "Your rulers have condemned you to the massacres, miseries, and privations of a war they cannot ever hope to win." Britain's leaflet campaign did nothing to stop the rolling German Army in Poland. It appears that unless Britain and France act fast, Poland will fall into German hands. |
