Rules of the Game
there are nine players on the field for defense
two teams play against each other for one team to win
there is a home, first, second, and third base
when up at bat, the players try to run around all four bases to score a run
when the fielding team gets three outs, they become the batting team and vise versa for the batting team
there are usually nine innings in a game but there can be extra innings if the score is tied, after nine innings have been played
there is a catcher, pitcher, first baseman, second baseman, third baseman, shortstop, left fielder, center fielder, and a right fielder
there are four umpires: one behind home plate, one beside first base, another one behind second base, and one behind third base
the away team bats first
the on-deck batter stands in front of his own dugout in the batting circle
