Passenger Search
Here you can search for an immigrant that came through
Ellis Island between the years of 1892 through 1924. To do so you have
to click on the words “Passenger Search” near the top of the page. Then
click on “new search” if you are starting a new search or click on “saved
search” if you have already started a search and have saved it. If you
click new search a space on the screen will appear where you type in the
name of the passenger who came through Ellis Island. Once you have typed
in the correct name on the correct lines, and the country they came from
next to where it says country (Origin) click continue. If they have the
name on record, a list of people will come up, then select the correct
person. When selected a list of information about the person will appear.
If they don't have the name on typed on record, a list of options will
appear. Select the one you like by clicking on the white circle next to
the option you like. Then click on “Search on the checked name choice”.
If a list of names appears, select the correct name, information on the
person will appear. If the list of options appears again the option you
just selected will not be on the list. From here you can select another
option and continue searching by repeating the steps.
