Biryani
 
 

You will need

Chicken 2 lbs with bones (skinless) cut to small pieces, and wash

Rice 2 cups or 1 and a half pound (long grain Pakistani Karmal Basmati Rice, soaked in warm water for 40 minutes.

Oil 1 cooking spoon

Butter 2 tablespoons

Black Pepper Powder 1 tea spoon

Salt Up to your taste

Cinnamon stick 1-2 inch stick

Cardmom 4 pieces

Clove 8 pieces

Cumin 1 teaspoon+

Garlic & ginger paste 1 tablespoon

Yellow food color 1 teaspoon

Water  4 cups

You will need an electric stove to cook, and about 2 or 3 pots



Method

Put the chicken, 4 cups of water, cumin, salt, black peppers, 4 cloves, 2   cardmoms and the ginger and garlic paste into a pot, let it boil. Lower the heat and leave it to cook for 45 minutes or until the chicken is tender (3 cups of soup should be left over).

Put the oil, 4 cloves, 2 cardmoms and the cooked chicken in a pot (leave the soup in the first pot and fry for 2 or 3 minutes, then put clean soup into the fried chicken (use the strainert to clean soup).
Drain soaked rice and put them into the chicken soup and let them cook on medium heat, (check rice several times while cooking. When the rice is almost done (the soup should be dried) lower the heat, put butter and sprinkle food color on to the rice, cover them and leave them for 10-12 minutes on the stove.
