Overview:
A Social Worker helps people improve their lives. They deal with
relationships, solve personal and family problems, and help people to function
in their environment. There are many different places a Social Worker
helps people in. This could take place in a school, hospital, business
or community environment. They usually work 40 hour week, however they
occasionally meet their clients in the evenings or on weekends.
Schooling:
A Bachelor's degree is a minimum requirement and a Master's degree has
become necessary for many positions.
Salary:As
of March in 2002, the salary of a Social Worker is from $36,373 to 43,660.
Job
Opportunities: Jobs are plentiful in cities where many people need
their services. This career is expected to grow very quickly through
the year 2010. This is because of the increase in the elderly population,
the large baby-boom generation that will be dealing with mid-life problems,
careers and other difficulties.
