Quality Control Scientist
Overview: There are many different
areas that a scientist can work. A quality control scientist is a type
of scientist that tries to encourage his workers to provide consistent
quality throughout the production and delivery of his product and/or service.
The quality control scientist job involves developing and using different
types of tests to make sure that the raw materials (starting
product or material used to make product), intermediate product
(product half-way through production) and the finished product meet the
specified standards of composition, texture, taste, appearance and performance
(depending on product type).
Schooling and Job Requirements:To
be a scientist you would need at least a Bachelor of Science Degree.The
quality control scientists job requirements include making and carrying
out all quality regulations and procedures for the processes of production
involving physical, chemical and biological test in laboratory, factory
or field conditions and for interpreting the information. The quality
control scientist must be the go between for the quality assurance staff
and those who are in charge of making sure that product specifications
are met in each part of the process. They must test raw materials
and products during and at the end of production. The need to advise production
staff, sales staff and Research and Development staff of any problems
in quality. They must develop standard methods, procedures documents and
reports for all the different areas. The quality control scientist must
also keep up with changes and new government regulations and new technology
by working closely with the quality assurance staff.
