Ethnic Groups

In Afghanistan there are many different types of people. Pashtuns make up 38% of the population. They speak Pashtu and are Muslim. Some speak Dari.

Other kinds of people are Tajiks (25%), Uzbek (6%), Hazara (19%), and some other smaller groups of people like Turkmen, Nuristanis, Aimaqs, Baloch, and Charar.

Afghanistan's culture has been around for more than 5,000 years.

Afghans live a peasant tribal society life.

Religion plays a very important part of life.
The two most popular languages in Afghanistan are Pashtu and Dari.
