In 3,000 B.C., they had strict rules for fighting wars. The two armies had to fight in daylight. The warriors always had to fight on open ground, ambushes were not allowed. If one side was not ready, they had to wait until the other side was ready. A trumpet would be used to signal when the two sides were ready. When Ramses the third fought, there were mainly no rules.
