  It is rare for a tsunami to hit the Atlantic coastline, but an earthquake in New Banks of Newfoundland formed a tsunami that caused bad damage and lives were lost at Placentia Bay, Newfoundland.

Hilo, Hawaii's tsunami
April 1, 1946
  A tsunami hit Hilo, Hawaii and flooded the downtown area, which had killed 159 people.The tsuami had waves high as 20 to 32 feet in the air.

Alaskan Tsunami
March 27, 1964
  An earthquake in Alaska formed a tsunami that hit the costal areas of California, Oregon, and Washington. The waves reached between 10 to 20 feet. There was a total of 123 people who died with $84 million in damage.
