Dog Biscuit Recipes

Each of the recipes below are our own. We developed these by reviewing many recipes on the Internet. After writing our own recipes we baked them and tested them on our own dogs. I guess you could say they are kid tested, dog approved.

Peanut Butter Dog People Biscuits

1½ cups of self rising flour

¼ cup oatmeal
½ cup smooth peanut butter
1 heaping tablespoon honey
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons shortening
Preheat the oven to 350° degrees. While the oven is heating combine the flour and oats in a large bowl. Add the peanut butter, egg, honey, vanilla, and shortening to the flour and oat mixture. Mix all ingredients well. Roll this mixture out  ¼ inch thick and cut into shapes or shape into dog biscuits by hand. Bake the biscuits for 20 minutes or until they turn slightly brown. Store in an airtight container.

Molasses Dog Biscuits

2 cups cornmeal

2 eggs
2 Tablespoons molasses
2 cloves garlic
½ cup chicken broth
½ cup powdered milk
Preheat oven to 400º. In a large mixing bowl combine all the ingredients. Blend until smooth. Roll this mixture out  ¼ inch thick and cut into shapes or shape into dog biscuits by hand. Place 1 inch apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.

A Basic Dog Biscuit

2 eggs

¼ cup milk
2 cups whole wheat flour
3 tablespoons wheat germ
Preheat oven to 350º. Break eggs into a bowl and stir until blended. Add the wheat germ and milk. Stir until smooth. Add whole wheat flour and mix into egg mixture with your hands.  Pat dough into a rectangle 3" wide and 1/2 inch thick, then cut it into 3/4 inch wide bones shapes. Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 25 minutes on one side and turn over and bake 25 minutes on the other side. Cool biscuits on racks. Makes 16 dog biscuits.

The Bacon Biscuit

5 cups Whole Wheat flour

1 cup Milk
1 Pound of Bacon
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
Pinch of  Salt
1/2 cup cold water
Preheat oven to 350º. In a frying pan cook the bacon. Save the drippings. Crumble the bacon in a large mixing bowl. Add the flour, milk, garlic, and salt. Mix well. Stir in the bacon drippings. Add cold water until the the mixture is moist. Roll this mixture out  ¼ inch thick and cut into shapes or shape into dog biscuits by hand. Place 1 inch apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake them at 350º for 35 to 40 minutes. Let them cool, then store in an airtight container. Makes 40 biscuits.

Cheese Biscuits

3 cups of all purpose flour

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 cloves of garlic - chopped
½  cup of vegetable oil
¼ cup milk
water as needed
Preheat oven to 400º. In a large mixing bowl combine all the ingredients.Add water if mixture is too dry to mix well.  Roll this mixture out  ¼ inch thick and cut into shapes or shape into dog biscuits. Place 1 inch apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400º for 10 to 15 minutes.
