Baseball in Japan … Baseball in Japan has the same rules as baseball in America. There are 12 professional teams: 6 in the Central League and 6 in the Pacific League. The teams are The Giants, The Dragons, The Baystars, The Swallows, The Carp, The Tigers, The Hawks, The Lions, The Fighters, The Blue Wave, The Marines and The Buffaloes.

The most hits in a lifetime is 3,085 by Isao Harimoto. The record for the most stolen bases is 1,065 by Oto Fukam Yutaka . The most strikeouts a pitcher has gotten in his lifetime is 4,490 by Masachi Kaneda.

In addition to professional baseball, there are little leagues. You can play in the league from ages 9-12. Players still have to wear a helmet when playing baseball for safety reasons. When you play baseball in school or at a local park, you have to play with a rubber ball.
