Ingredients

2 cups of sugar

2 tablespoons of corn starch
1 cup of water
1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar

1 tablespoon of flavoring

Flavorings: rose, mastic, strawberry, orange, or lemon.

Food Coloring

Use as many drops as you need to get the desired color. Depending on the flavoring you chose, use: red, yellow, green, or orange.

1/2 toasted nuts, chopped
Confectioner's sugar

 

 

1) Dissolve sugar and cornstarch in water. 5) Add flavor and food color.
2) Add cream of tartar. 6) Add nuts.
3) Boil to 220 degrees F. 7) Pour into oiled shallow pan.
4) Cover pot the last 5 minutes. 8) When cool, cut into squares and roll each piece in sifted powdered sugar.
