Safety

One may think that he knows every safety tip there is to know about electricity, but he really doesn't. Bobby Hancock from Georgia Power of Tifton was kind enough to come to our school and do a presentation on electricity. He brought a presentation called Power Town to our school. He showed that people should be more cautious when digging holes or wells. Because someone may hit an underground power line and can be electrocuted or possibly killed. Everyone should be cautious when flying a kite or even climbing a tree. If there is a power line down and is touching the tree even in the least little bit it can shock someone. If ever a power line is seen down call the local power company and do not touch it. This power line can also electrocute you. We have some pictures for you to look at below.

This is Bobby Hancock. He was surprised when we asked him if we could take a picture of him. Do not dig underground without a permit where underground powerlines are located.
Mr. Hancock told that this is a voltage meter.
Mr. Hancock is showing us not to have an antennae near the power line.
