George Washington served from 1789-1797 on February 22, 1732, and was the first president.  He was born in Pope's Creek on February 22, 1732 in Virginia.  While he was a president he was also a in the Military, a gardener, and  he signed the Declaration of Independence.  His wife, Martha Curtis, got married at the age of 26 and he had two adopted children and two children that had belonged to Martha before they were married.  He was a federalist.  His Vice-president was John Adams.  He died December 14, 1799.
