Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the only president to be in office for more then eight years. He was in office from 1933-1945.  He was Chief Usher from 1941-1969( a person who serves as an official doorkeeper, in a courtroom or legislative chamber).  Roosevelt became when he was 51years old.  He was a democrat.  He had five children and attended Harvard University.
