James Madison was the 4th President of the United States. James Madison was a man who signed the Constitution, along with 40 other men including himself and only two of which are Presidents, George Washington was the other President. He served from 1809 to 1817.  James Madison’s photo is printed on the 1809 bronze medal honoring the peace treaty between the United States and a native Indian tribe.
