The Siren is a creature from ancient Greece that appears in Jason and the Argonauts and Ulysses and the Sirens and many other books. Besides being beautiful looking, even though it has a woman's head on a bird body, they sing wonderful songs which draw men to them from the sea to the coast where they live. These songs also put them to sleep, which makes them very easy for the Sirens to kill. In Greek mythology only three are mentioned: Parthenope, Ligea, and Leucosia.
