Tasmanian Devil
The Tasmanian Devil is marsupial. The characteristic that separates them from other mammals is that they have a pouch that their young crawl into at a very early age. The Tasmanian Devil only lives in Tasmania hence forth the name. In ancient times it lived on the mainland but that is not the case today. The Tasmanian Devil is a very heavily built terrestrial mammal slightly resembling a badger. It is approximately three and a half feet in length. The Tasmanian Devil has a black and brown chest with white shoulders. Its name came from its husky cough or howling. When early settlers first heard this inhuman noise the immediately thought it was the devil himself. Its diet varies with lizards, birds, and the occasional road kill,as the devils are scavengers.
