Many women throughout history have opened the doors for women of today to pursue careers in science and engineering. These brave women had to overcome many obstacles. In the past it was thought that education was wasted on women. Even with an education, few if any jobs in science were open to them. However, thanks to these courageous women who worked hard to lead the way, there are job opportunities in the science and engineering fields today. Education is no longer considered to be a waste of time for women but some people still believe women are not suited for math and science. We don't think this is true! Let's take advantage of the doors that have been opened!
