This website is about Hands-on-Learning. Hands-on-Learning (HOL) is learning by doing. Here at SRS, we have a courtyard that provides our HOL. We have a colonial herb garden, a pond with fish, and a weather station. We think hands on learning makes you think about your work, while having fun. We had a contest to determine  the name of our courtyard. The name that won was "The Lot of Learning". We observed that many more student's rather go outside and do an experiment than stay inside. We are trying to make a schedule to fit every class that would want to participate  in the courtyard with  varieties of activities. Rarely, you see children and teachers in the courtyard doing a science experiment, or other subjects.  Due to this experiment, we are trying to help as best as we can to get more use out of the courtyard. When the courtyard was first made, it got a lot of use. Through out the years at SRS, we haven't been using the courtyard that much. This year we are trying to start again, using the courtyard as much as we can.
