Parent Surveys
According to our research, parents feel that students should use the courtyard more often. Some parents felt that the courtyard would be a good place for students to study during the lunch period. Parents would like to see a student based clean up crew for the courtyard. Most parents also liked the idea of a courtyard club and using it for after school activities. When the parents were asked to come in and help maintain the courtyard we received a positive response. In conclusion parents feel very strongly about the courtyard and the students using this “lot of learning.”
In conclusion our research and the researchers research is that most of the school population’s attitudes are improved not only in school, but also everywhere. It improves the way they look at nature and the way they look at learning.
Student Surveys
When we asked the students what they thought of having a study hall during lunch- they responded negatively (most students were 4th and 5th graders we had very little 6th graders in this survey and that is who it would benefit).
Most of the students that we surveyed felt that courtyard time might just be a good idea.
Children believe that they should spend more time in the courtyard.
When we asked if the students thought about a courtyard club after school they responded very positively.
When we asked if they would be willing to clean the courtyard they responded even better than they did if they would like to have a courtyard club after school.
When we asked them if they wished to utilize the courtyard more often they responded yes overwhelmingly.
