The courtyard area in our school establishes a beautiful natural habitat as well as creating learning centers for the science curriculum. Our courtyard began a continuation from our primary school. Teachers and parents worked collaboratively writing grants to finance the project. Students, teachers, and parents plan, build, and maintain the courtyard for learning purposes. In the courtyard we have a weather station, a rock pile, and a woodland habitat with a small pond. We also have two garden areas. One for growing vegetables and the other for growing herbs. The goal of our courtyard is to enhance our science learning and provide a safe haven for wildlife, respecting the word around them.
