The wide open spaces of the Southwest region are home to huge ranches where cattle graze and large fields where cotton and other crops grow.  Oil has provided a lot of the region's wealth.  Tourists come to visit the beautiful Grand Canyon, the Painted Desert, Carlsbad Caverns, the Saguaro National Desert, and other sites.
