Famous People

Harry Houdini was born in 1874 in Appleton, Wisconsin.  He was one of the best escape artists this world has ever seen. He died in 1926.

The Ringling Brothers were five brothers. Their names were Albert, Otto, Alfred, Charles, and John. They started the most famous circus in American history. The family originated in Germany. 

 

Interesting Places

Lambeau Field is where the Green Bay Packers play their football games. They are the oldest professional football team in the United States. Lambeau Field and the Packer Hall of Fame are in Wisconsin.

Old World Wisconsin is a pioneer village near Eagle, Wisconsin. Guides in costumes explain what life was like for early settlers. Visitors see how farmers, carpenters, and bakers worked.

Perret State Park near Trempaleau has some of the burial mounds built by early Native Americans in Wisconsin.  The park sits on the top of bluffs that look over the Mississippi River.
