Utah is in the Mountain Region. Utah is an exciting state with the famous Great Salt Lake. Its capital, Salt Lake City, is located in the area of the Great Salt Lake. The interesting thing about the lake is that you can float on it because it is four to seven times as salty as the ocean. Utah's statehood is January 4, 1896, the 45th state. The abbreviation for Utah is UT. The state motto for Utah is "Industry," and the state song is "We Love Thee." Utah is 84,905 sq. mi. The Great Salt Lake covers about 1,500 miles.
The highest point is King's peak, which is 13,528 ft. (4,123 m.) above sea level. The lowest Point, Beaverdam Creek in Washington County, is 2,000 ft. (610 m.).
