John Jacob Astor was born in Waldorf, Germany. He came to New York at the age of 20. He became famous through the fur trade. Astor retired from the fur trade in 1834 and died in 1848.
Abigail Jane Scott Duniway was a campaign leader for voting rights for women. She was born in 1834 in Illinois.
