Oregon Caves National Monument and the Columbia River Gorge are two interesting places to visit in Oregon.

During the 1840's and 1850's thousands of Oregon settlers traveled by covered wagons on the Oregon Trail to the fertile farmlands. In 1847 the Indians massacred Marcus Whitman and 13 others near Walla Walla, Washington. This led to the Cayuss War in 1847.
