Oregon's state bird is the Western Meadowlark.  The bird's scientific name is Saturnalia Neglecta.  It is 9 inches (23 centimeters) tall.  It lives in fields and on Oregon's farms.  It nests in the grass so it can find bugs to eat in the vegetation and soil.

Oregon's flag shows the state seal in gold.  The seal shows a tall-masted ship sailing in the distance, a covered wagon pulled by an ox, and a bald eagle perching above the shield.
