Oklahoma

 

        State flag: The state flag has a blue background. There is a shield in the middle used in the battle of the Osage. It has two peace symbols (the calumet and the Olive Branch.) It was made in 1925.


   

State  Bird:  The Scissor-Tailed Flycatcher was made the state bird in 1951.  It catches flies in mid-air and eats them. The scissor-tailed flycatcher lives in the south central U.S.

 

State Tree:  Oklahoma's state tree is the Eastern Redbud.  The year it was made state tree was 1937.  It grows in the eastern half of Oklahoma and in the central and eastern United States.

 



State Flower : A mistletoe is a small, bushy, plant that grows in tangles on the branches of trees. In Oklahoma it usually grows on an Elm Tree.
