Major Landmarks

A major landmark in Ohio is the Serpent Mound. Which was built over 2,000 years ago by Native Americans. They used this mound as an ancient burial ground. Native Americans shaped the mound like a giant snake. An aerial view is the best view. The Serpent Mound is in the town of Pebbles in  Adams County, Ohio.

The second major landmark in Ohio I want to tell about is the United States Air Force Museum. The United States Air Force Museum is in Dayton, Ohio. There are more than 300 types of aircraft in this museum. For example, visitors can see a Curtiss P-40E Warhawk.  United States Army Air Forces used this plane in World War II (1939-194).

The last major landmark is Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial.  It is located on South Bass Island in Lake Erie. It is near the town of Put-in-Bay. The memorial honors Commodore Oliver Perry. They honor him because he led the U.S. Navy to victory in the battle of Lake Erie. This battle took place during the war of 1812 (1812-1814).
