    New Jersey is a part of the Mid-Atlantic states.  Its capital is Trenton.  New Jersey borders Delaware, Pennsylvania ,and New York.  The two nicknames for New Jersey are "The Clam State" and "The Garden State."  New Jersey became the third state on December 18, 1787.  One river that runs along the border of New Jersey is the Delaware River.  New Jersey's highest point is 1,803.  New Jersey is a place with many attractions like the New Jersey State Aquarium that shows many of the sea animals that we can't see out on the shore.  Pictures of New Jerseys symbols are here.

State Song

New Jersey's state song is "I'm From New Jersey".

I'm from New Jersey and I'm proud about it,
I love The Garden State
I'm from New Jersey and I want to shout it out,
I think it's simply great.
All of the other states throughout the nation
may mean a lot to some;
But I wouldn't want another,
Jersey is like no other
I'm glad that's where I'm from.
