The Biltmore Estate- covers about 8,000 acres of forests and farmland in Asheville.  Biltmore Estate is the biggest house in America.

Old Salem- is a restored colonial village in Winston. Moravians founded the village of Salem in 1776.

North Carolina Zoological Park- near Asheboro, has more than 700 animals and over 30,000 plants. It occupies 1,448 acres, making it one of the largest zoos in the world.
