Agriculture In Montana

Farms and ranches cover about two-thirds of Montana's land area.  Beef cattle are the state's leading product.  Livestock products account for about half of Montana's farm income.  Some of the nation's largest cattle ranches are in Montana.

Other livestock include sheep and hogs.  Sheep graze in many parts of the state.  The region just east of the Rocky Mountains has many hog farms.
