Missouri covers 69,709 square miles and is the 21st largest state.  Missouri is in the central United States.  About 5.5 million people live in  Missouri.  Missouri became the 24th state on August 10,1821.  The capital of Missouri is Jefferson City, but Missouri's largest city is Kansas City with nearly half a million people!  Missouri's state bird is the bluebird.  This is the bluebird.
