Black-Eyed Susan
 
    This flower is a bright yellow with a chocolate-brown center.  This state flower is related to the sunflower and the daisy as shown by its circle of long, narrow petals.  The flower gives summertime color to the fields and open woods of Maryland.  The Black-eyed Susan stands from 1 to 3 feet (30-90 centimeters) tall.  The flower is 3 to 7 inches wide.
