About The Powerful Pygmies

Mr. González is our coach for this project, but also our science teacher. He is really funny, of course all aliens are. (That’s what we think he is…) A lot of times when we work—at lunch or after school—we play and have fun. Some days we don’t even get much done. We started out with two teams. Powerful Pygmies (girls) and Fantastic Falcons (boys). When the rules changed we became one, of course us girls got our way, “Powerful Pygmies coming through!”

Hi, my name is Bri, I am 12 years old and go to Chimacum Middle School. This year I am in 6th grade and my favorite subjects are challenge language, Pre-Algebra and Science. My favorite thing to do is gymnastics. I am in level 5 soon to be level 6. I am the oldest of the two sisters in the house. My little sister is 9 and in fourth grade. My favorite foods are noodles and breads. (besides ice cream and candy. . . .) Other hobbies include reading, playing french horn and violin, sailing, and writing. I also like to ski. I think making websites is a lot of fun and when I have spare time I create other things too.

My name is Rania. I go to Chimacum Middle School in the 6th grade. I am 11 years old, and my hobbies are soccer, skiing, playing with my cats, sleeping in, jump roping, reading, singing, and cooking. I have one brother and one sister. I have five long-haired cats, and I am planning to get a corgi durring the summer. My cats names are Asia, Ozzie, Bear, TC, and Alyan.

Hi. My name is Jessy. I am 10
years old. I love to read. Last summer I played
on a soccer team called “Italy”. I have been playing the violin since I was 2 1/2 years old. It is one of my favorite
things to do when I have the time. I go to
Chimacum Middle School. I am in 6th grade.
I have a cat called Juliette. I used to
have another cat called Romeo! My brother
once had a labrador called Abby. My dad wants
a gorilla or a python for his birthday. My mom won’t
allow it. My ambition when I grow up is to be
a pilot. I will work for Air-France. France has been my dream since I was 2 years old. My best
friend’s name is Briannah. She is very, very, extremely nice!!! She is also on the pygmy marmoset team.

My name is Chelsea! I am 12 years old and 5 feet tall. I have 11 ducks, 2 brids, 3 horses, 5 cats and a dog. That adds up to 21 pets. We have a farm. My hobbies are riding horses, piano, reading, soccer, and playing outside! My best friend is named Rania! She is a great person and a wonderful friend! We get together all the time! I have 1 older sistr! Her name is Ashley! She also rides horses! My favorite animals are monkies and I’m glad to do this on Pygmy Marmosets.

My name is Trevor and I’m 12 years old. My hobbies are biking, playing baseball, football, soccer, playing video games with my friends and my father and model making. My favorite foods are Chicken Fahitas, Bean Casserole, Steak, salad. My favorite drink is a latté. I have a sister and mother and father.

My name is Nick and I am 12 years old. My hobbies are snowboarding, skateboarding, mountain bike riding and playing Nintendo. My favorite foods are chicken, watermelon, and granola bars.

My name is Jeremy. My hobbies are: surfing, biking, waterskiing, and snowboarding. I'm in 6th grade. I have a dog, kitten, and two gerbals. My favorite food is pizza, and I like ice cream.

I am the team's coach, Mr. González. I teach 6th grade Science and an 8th grade Computers class. I love science and technology because science is exciting and helps you make sense about the world around you, and technology makes learning fun. I'm married and have a four year old son. We have two dogs, a cat and two birds, and I am 35 years old in human years. I guess the most interesting thing about me is that I am originally from the Andromeda galaxy. I came to this planet to live among humans and to teach the young how important it is to care about each other and to care about your planet. I'm also a history buff because I think we can learn a lot from our ancentors (at the very least, we should learn from their mistakes). I love the ThinkQuest competitions because the WWW makes learning fun and new. Well, at least it'll be new for a short while longer. I've coached several teams before for ThinkQuest Jr. and a couple of teams for the big ThinkQuest. One of my ThinkQuest Jr. teams made it to the finals, but none of my teams ever won a cash prize. The coolest thing about these competitions is that all their websites are still active and still being accessed and used. People are learning from our efforts and that is worth all the work!
